Sponsorship of the Lithuania Men National Basketball Team

In 2019 Gediminas Ziemelis became one of the main sponsors of the Lithuania Men National Basketball Team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019. The championship was held in China and broadcasted in 67 countries. The Lithuania Men National Basketball Team, coached by Dainius Adomaitis, finished 9th among 32 teams.

Support for basketball players LavTwins

Gediminas Ziemelis’ support for basketball is not limited to the sport’s cubs. He has been supporting Darjus and Ksistof Lavrinovic – LavTwins – European basketball stars with careers spanning for over 20 years. The tallest twins in the world have played for major Euroleague clubs including but not limited to Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow, Fenerbahçe Istanbul, and was once on the brink of the NBA.

Support for professional athlete Sergej Maslobojev

Gediminas Ziemelis has been supporting a professional athlete, multi-discipline fighter and a goodwill ambassador Sergej Maslobojev. The mixed martial artist, boxer and kickboxer has received many awards, including 2018 WAK-1F World Heavyweight Champion (+91kg) and 2017 Baltic Muay Thai Light Heavyweight Champion (-91kg) LMTS. Sergej is not only a great fighter but also a passionate philanthropist, a member of UNICEF and regularly participates in various charity events, visits orphanage homes, rehabilitation centres for adults, juvenile detention facilities and pays visits to children with oncologic diseases in hospitals.

Support for the Prienai-Birstonas basketball club “SKYCOP” and basketball players Ball brothers

The support by Gediminas Ziemelis for the Prienai-Birstonas basketball club “SKYCOP” helped to attract USA basketball players, brothers LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball to the team. The joining of the world-class basketball celebrities to the Lithuanian club is an extraordinary event in the history of the Lithuanian basketball. The players not only enriched the club “Vytautas” with the experience and victories of the American basketball but also their joining will help to spread the name of Lithuania all over the world.

Support for the Kaunas basketball club “Zalgiris”

Gediminas Ziemelis is one of the general sponsors of the oldest Lithuanian basketball club “Zalgiris”. G. Ziemelis not only supports the club financially but he also supported “Zalgiris” by providing a business class Boeing 737 aircraft which allows the players to travel to the competitions. The exclusive 56 seats business class aircraft is specially designed for the tall basketball players to make their travels more comfortable and less exhausting.

Support for Lithuanian Olympics boxing team athletes

Gediminas Ziemelis has supported the reviving Lithuanian boxing. The financial support was provided for Evaldas Petrauskas, a multiple champion of Lithuanian and European boxing, 2012 Olympics bronze medal winner. In addition, the support was provided for an evolving boxer Tadas Tamasauskas, a multiple Lithuanian and European prize-winning boxer.

Support for racer Kasparas Navickas

Kasparas Navickas is a Lithuanian autocross and rally cross, as well as Nordic cross-country rally championship participant and winner. Having started his sports career in 2011, in just three years Kasparas became the rally cross champion of Lithuania and the Baltic States, as well as and the runner-up of the Nordic cross-country rally championship.

In 2014 K. Navickas successfully participated in the European rally cross championship. The seventeen-year-old became the youngest participant in the championship and became the youngest racer to win the prize in one of the rounds. Gediminas Ziemelis supported K. Navickas in participation in one of the six championship rounds.

Support for the basketball club “Vanagai BC”

Basketball in Lithuania is loved and played by practically everyone. The young players of the basketball club based in Vilnius know the sweet taste of victory, holding the trophy of the Northern European Youth Basketball League (NEYBL) on their shelves.

The club has helped to unearth some major Lithuanian basketball talent. The globally renowned player, Jonas Valanciunas, spent a season playing for “Vanagai BC” before joining “Lietuvos Rytas” and signing the contract with the National Basketball Association (NBA) club “Toronto Raptors” for the upcoming season.

Cooperation with the Wroclaw basketball club “Slask”

In 2011, one of the companies managed by Gediminas Ziemelis became the sponsor of the Wroclaw basketball club “Slask”.
